Leaf through and enjoy 88 pages of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and script alongside full colour artwork, graphic art and photography, all written, edited, and published by VIU students.
This year, Portal boasts 30 student contributors, including graphic novel contest winner Arlen Hogarth for his piece “The Sea Wife,” and Mary Fraughten’s creative non-fiction story, “Ghosts on the Old Hart River Road.” The Gustafson Distinguished Poet interview is with Jan Zwicky, poet, musician, and philosopher. Zwicky reflects upon the lecture “Auden as Philosopher: How Poets Think.”
Graphic Design student Jordan Wende has designed a stunning cover image that reflects the idea, content, and mandate of Portal 2012 to a tee. This cover is complimented by a classic and elegant interior created by Sarah Sandford.
