Cyrom

The Cyrom, whose name means "to nurture" are the custodians of Pantheus. They were created by Aluron and Gharlyle during the Age of Creation.

In the beginning, the Cyrom were a glorious species - tall, luminous and ethereally beautiful. But over time, their emerging cultures caused rifts between them. They wandered the lands in search of places to call their own. To adapt to their new environments, Cyrom physiology wandered down unique evolutionary paths.

During the course of their evolution, the Cyrom branched into various distinguished races. But despite their unique evolutionary characteristics, the single large eye, pointed ears and tails are a staple of all Cyrom races.

Aquasia Cyrom

The Aquasians are but a legend which has nearly been forgotten. They have lived for hundreds of years in the depths of the sees, after being driven from land during the great Cyrom evolution. Their mythology and lack of surface knowledge insure they rarely emerge from their place beneath the waves.

Their emerald skin is smooth and they have no legs to speak of. From the pelvis down, a hint of legs gradually conjoin to form a long, barbed, stinger-tipped tail which grants them maneuverability and defense. They can breathe out of water, but their physiology insures they can never exist on the surface.

The Aquasians are salvagers, and builders. They use wreckage from the surface and materials from the sea to build their cities.

Magnus Cyrom

The Magnus Cyrom are the second most dominant Cyrom race on Pantheus. The Magnians are earth-dwellers who fled to the cavernous mountains of what is now known as the perpetually winter continent of Magnus during the Cyrom evolution.

Magnians evolved to withstand the harsh cold both beneath and above ground. In stature they are the largest of the Cyrom races. Soft fur covers their bodies, and grows particularly thick on their extremities, chests and stomachs. Their tales are short, thick and nearly as strong as their arms.

Magnians are very skilled craftsmen. Weaponry, pottery and cigars are only a few of their claims to fame. Perhaps one of their most profitable exports is their own fur, which grows at a reasonable rate and is used to make warm and comfortable attire world-wide. Magnians are devoted traders. They believe in business above nearly all else, and not all believe in "fare" business.

Therra Cyrom

The Therra Cyrom are the most dominant Cyrom Race. Why Therrians prospered more than other races remains a mystery.

During the time of the Cyrom evolution, Therrians turned to embrace the natural world. They fled to live among the forests.

To this day, there are Therrians who reject the modern world in lew of their traditional homeland on the Continent of Therra. Such Therrians are widely considered radical isolationists who cling to preservationist ideals of a world that no longer exists.

Therrians are slender and nimble, with clear complexions and no hair save for their heads. As a cat extends and retracts its claws, so may Therrians control the barbs which grow from their long, thin tails. While these barbs are short, they nonetheless provide excellent defense and grip.

While many city dwelling Therrians have lost touch with their roots, others, mainly those who dwell on Therra are innately adept at understanding the world and its gifts. Such Therrians are renowned for their understanding of both the Gaia Trinity and medicine, but their isolationist tendencies insure much of their wisdom is kept among their own kind.

Therrians are seekers of knowledge. It is rumored that, somewhere on Therra, there is a secret library, in which can be found almost any book imaginable. Since the library is constantly growing, the Therra Cyrom often seek rare books. If there is trading to be done, books are one thing they will accept.

Noctus Cyrom

The Noctus Cyrom are the outcasts of Cyrom civilization. They emerged shortly after the disappearance of the engineered Aerodians. They are considered among many Panthian races to be tainted, due to their affiliation with Arden Altharius. They are rarely seen, and immediately scorned by most who encounter them.

The Noctus dwell in the ancient catacombs of the Netherplane, deep beneath Therra. Little is truly known about their culture, but rumors and speculation have given rise to various unpleasant theories.

Like Therrians, the Noctus are tall and slender. Centuries beneath the world has caused all color to drain from their features.

Dregs

Dregs are the offspring of human and Cyrom parents.

Physically, Dregs are a curious amalgamation of the innate features of both species. Their physical characteristics differ depending on their parents. In humans, the male genetic information is dominant, whereas females carry the dominant genes in the Cyrom.

Dregs are considered abominations by the majority of both Human and Cyrom. Even in Haven, a city of proposed peace for both species, Dregs are often terminated before or immediately after birth. Those who survive must do so in secret.

Elementals

Elementals were created by Therrians during the War of Acceptance. Not long before the coming of humanity, Therrian scientists discovered the remnants of the research Arden Altharius conducted centuries earlier. The elementals were created to be weapons of mass destruction which harnessed the full potential of the Gaia Trinity.

Like the Aerodians, the elementals were created with more intelligence than the Therrians expected. While some Elementals did have a sense of loyalty to their creators, many chose to go their own way. Worse for the Cyrom, others chose to ally themselves with enslaved humanity. It was this act which proved to be the turning point for humanity during the war.

There are six elemental races. The individuals of each share a spiritual bond. Though they are of individual minds, they are spiritually linked, much like the Anima. This often prevents one elemental from directly harming another.

All Elimentals possess two forms. Their humanoid form allows them to interact with their creators, but greatly limits their manipulation abilities, while their true, beastial form allows those abilities to be fully realized.

Black Elemental

The black elemental emerged during the campaign of the Blood of the Virtuous. It is believed to be an Elemental abomination created by the influence of the Sphere. After the elementals were banished to the Outerdark, the Black Elemental remained, independent from the others.

There is no honor, nobility, or beauty about these hideous beasts. In their true form they are the color of onyx. Like their creator Zuzambelle, they are an Anti-existence with the ability to madden and erase. They dim the light in passing.

Since they are not of this world, they have no control over its Ether; however, their breath is the breath of the anti-existence which erases everything it comes in contact with. In addition, their ability to exude a black, sooty mist can render their enemies blind.

Blue Elementals

The blue are the Elementals of water. In their true form their bodies are sleek and the same colour as the ocean on a clear day. Beneath the waves, or on the land matters little to them, so long as there is enough moisture to sustain them.

Their abilities encompass the Aurist and Energist aspects of the Gaia Trinity.

Green Elemental

The elementals of the very earth itself. Perhaps one of the most destructive and revitalizing of the Elementals, the green were created with the ability to manipulate the Aurist and Animist facets of the Gaia Trinity to create devastating earthquakes in which entire cities could be laid to waste. So destructive were their capabilities that the green were rarely employed in combat. Instead, their ability to create and shape the earth, and control its healing gifts made them invaluable, in times of war, and of peace.

Red Elemental

The red Elementals were born from the bowels of the world. They are beings of flame and sulfur. Their will is destruction, their gift, the power to incinerate. It is rare to see a red Elemental performing any task other than slaughter and destruction. Yet, out of their sulfurous mouths occasionally spouts a sustaining fire which has been known to make places too cold for habitation livable.
